Before launching into "Fire" Jimi plays some beautiful unaccompanied guitar. "Hey Joe" precedes a real treat from the JHE. It begins as a raging version of "Spanish Castle Magic" before Mitch steps in with a solo. After pummeling the Hell out of his drums,Mitch settles down and Jimi jumps in with "Sunshine of Your Love". After about a minute of this Cream tribute, the band steers right back into "Spanish Castle Magic".
Jimi dedicates "Red House" to "those who may be sleeping". This 12+ minute version covers much territory and is highly recommended. "I Don't Live Today" is introduced as being recorded in 1444. This version features a major "freak-out" section containing a snatch of the "Star Spangled Banner". The outro section contains a tease of "Tomorrow Never Knows". The official "The Jimi Hendrix Concerts"contains this version.
The JHE wraps up this excellent show with a ten minute "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)".
This show is available as a high quality soundboard. Most of the show (minus "Foxy Lady") was released on the "Stages" box set in 1991.
