"Gotta make sure all the goodies is right for ya" says Jimi after a 3 minute tune-up. After 2 up tempo openers,Jimi chooses to slow things down. This "Hear My Train A Comin'" is an 11 minute journey into The Blues.

After "Lover Man" the band revisits The Blues in the form of "Red House". This version is unique in that Jimi's Uni-Vibe effect is quite evident starting around the 5:10 mark. This pedal was generally reserved for other tunes.

"Machine Gun" is dedicated to the soldiers in "Madison,Milwaukee,Chicago and oh yes...Vietnam and Cambodia". This 11 minute version ends with some heavy whammy bar abuse. Jimi then asks the crowd to stand up for the "Star Spangled Banner". Oddly, the National Anthem leads to "Foxy Lady" instead of "Purple Haze".

"Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" switches to a drum solo around the 9:20 mark. The finish of Mitch's solo leads right into "Purple Haze" to wrap up the night.

This is a very fine show, and Jimi is in great spirits, but the sound quality is about average for a 1970 audience tape.
