After encouraging the audience to forget about yesterday, Jimi starts "Fire". "Spanish Castle Magic" contains a beautiful unaccompanied guitar solo with some hints of things to come at Woodstock.
"Hear My Train A Comin'" is an intense blues workout. Up next the JHE pay tribute to Cream with "Sunshine of Your Love".
A 13 minute "Red House" is played before the crowd-pleasing "Foxy Lady". This "Foxy Lady" is unlike most others. This one has a much-extended guitar solo including a slowed-down "mellow" section. Easily one of the longest "Ladys" ever at 10:34.
Jimi welcomes Jack Casady (from Jefferson Airplane) on bass for "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)". This version features beautiful playing from everyone involved. Jimi introduces the band around the 13 minute mark accidentally calling Jack Casady "Jack Bruce". Clocking in around 17 minutes, this "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" pushes all the limits.
This show was released officially in 1998 as "Live at the Oakland Coliseum". It is a very enjoyable above average audience recording.
