After a couple minutes of tuning up,the JHE breaks into "Fire". "Hear My Train A Comin'" is introduced as "Gettin' My Heart Back Together Again". Jimi's recent drug bust at an international border may have informed this intense version.
Up next is a real treat. "Spanish Castle Magic" behaves as it normally does until it teases "Third Stone From the Sun". After a heavy guitar workout,Mitch jumps in with a solo. The conclusion of the drum solo brings us into the only (?) live version ever of "Little Miss Lover". After a couple minutes this leads us back into "Spanish Castle Magic".
In light of recent events,Jimi says "Soon as I get outta jail,I'm gonna see her" during a fine "Red House".
Another rarity (for the time) comes up next in the form of "Room Full of Mirrors". At times Jimi appears to be improvising lyrics in a vague cautionary tale.
After the crowd-pleasing "Purple Haze" the JHE closes with "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)".
This audience tape is fairly enjoyable.
