Just before the JHE starts the show,a member of the audience can be heard yelling "Move over Rover and let Jimi take over!". Hendrix asks the audience to wait "a minute and 32 seconds" before they begin.
"Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" is a rather intense opener for the show,clocking in around 5:26. "Hey Joe" (without an extended intro) is next.
Before "Are You Experienced" Jimi politely asks the crowd to stop yelling song requests. An excellent 12:31 version of "Red House" shows up later in the set.
Before "Purple Haze" Jimi says he wants to play "Sunshine of Your Love" as a tribute to Cream. But perhaps due to the frequent yells of "Purple Haze!" from the crowd,he gives in. Little more than 3 minutes of the song survives on the tape before it cuts off.
The overall sound quality on this audience tape is slightly above average.
