1st show
Jimi introduces Mitch,Noel and himself before heading into a lively "Come On (pt.1)". Next up Jimi dedicates "I Don't Live Today" to the American Indian and the audience. This 7+ minute version includes some intense guitar coupled with melodic soloing.
A very nicely-played 14 minute "Red House" shows up later in the set. "Purple Haze" is played without the "sound painting" or "Star Spangled Banner" intro.
Jimi thanks the crowd for showing up before diving into a 6:50 version of "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)". Jimi and the band seem to be in good spirits throughout this concert.
For a 1969 audience tape, the sound is pretty decent on this show. Jimi's guitar is very prominent in the mix.
2nd show
After an intro/tuning segment the JHE busts into an energetic "Fire". "Hey Joe" is introduced as having been recorded in 1733.
Jimi mentions his "pookie bear" in "Red House", Sadly, the song cuts out around 4:25. Later in the set the JHE plays a rare (for 1969) "Little Wing". Up next Jimi seems to start "Hear My Train A Comin'" but instead opts for "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)".
Following audience chants for "WATCHTOWER!!" Jimi decides to play the Dylan track. This is one of only 2 known live versions played by the original JHE. "Purple Haze" brings an end to the proceedings.
This audience tape is below average in terms of sound quality.
